Cheapest Web Host - Is That All There Is?

By: Kristi Youmans

The cheapest web host is a free hosting provider, and thats fine if you have a little hobby site or are just learning. Once you start putting some time into your site and trying all the things that can be done you will find that support rules. You want to look for the cheapest host with good service because a small problem can cost you hours without knowledgeable help.

You should be able to get all the bells and whistles with good support for $60.00 per year. That would be including your domain name registration. My advice it to get your domain name at the same place you get your hosting. It means way less hassle in keeping up with the renewals when they are together.

For me the online ticket system makes the phone useless. I would much rather sit down and compose my technical question on line than try to stammer through it after waiting on hold.

Look for a set up that doesn't have any add on fees for email accounts. That all resides on the space you rent and you shouldn't have to pay extra. My host gives unlimited accounts bravely because they most folks don't need many. I have one client that has 20 accounts for email and that's a lot for small companies.

There are a bunch of sites on line that rate web hosts. you shouldn't think that if you pay more you will get more. I have clients that are paying $26 a month and we fix them up with the same set up for $5 a month and great support. If you really need a recommendation you can email the site owner here and he will probably be glad to give you the name of his provider.

Remember it's not the cheapest web host you want but the best for the money, and often it's the cheapest too.
